Day of Valor, also known as Araw ng Kagitingan, commemorates the Fall of Bataan during World War II and the Bataan Death March which followed.
Nearly 80,000 soldiers were forced by Japanese troops to walk 140 kilometers to Capas, Tarlac. Thousands died during their journey due to exhaustion, starvation, and dehydration, while some perished from their wounds, were executed, or left to die.
