Why is it called Ghost Month?

Ghost month is a Chinese tradition wherein the deceased break free from the gates of the afterlife to visit the living world. It typically falls in August (or July, depending on the Lunar New Year).

Roads, no cars, edsa, pasig, makati

For 2023, it’s from August 16 to September 14. Also called Hungry Ghost Festival, the spirits roam for food, disturb people’s minds and whisper to them to do something they don’t really do. This is why Feng Shui experts discourage launching new ventures and big events in peoples’ careers, relationships, and domestic life. But never living life at a standstill.
